Ski morning, screening night: the Eldora double-header

Film Week’s proudest daily double: first chair at Eldora, last Q&A at the Boulder Theater.

The logistics

Eldora Mountain is 21 miles up Boulder Canyon — 40 minutes driving, or take RTD’s NB2 bus straight from downtown. Ski the morning, catch the early-afternoon bus down, and you’re showered and seated for a 5pm screening with time for a momo run.

The gear math

Renting at the mountain works, but if the forecast shows a storm week, demo-shop lines get long. Neptune Mountaineering (this article’s sponsor, and the festival’s gear partner) does overnight demo setups and badge-holder discounts — pick up at 6pm, first chair without the 8am rental scrum.
